Hi, I purchased my live rock for another tank and haven’t seen live rock like this before. I got it from a guy who torn down his tank and I was trying to get the best for copepods to hide in etc… can anyone tell me what type this might be?

Looks like aragonite based live rock. Not sure what you mean by what type?

Looks natural to me. This reminds me of old school basic Fiji rock like Walt smith used to sell years ago. More boulder shaped but reasonably porous.

If it makes sense, I call it standard ocean/reef rock
Not cats paw, tonga, fuji, etc

Looks similar to home made rocks with oyster shells and Portland cement
