Live Rock Observation

Back in the day I had a few saltwater tanks all with live rocks to start them old school. I would late at night take a red lensed light and observe the live rock. Amazing the critters that come out of the live rock after lights out the red lens allowed observation.
Was wondering if anyone has done this?

I do as well. wouldn't know a lot of things that are in my tank if i didn't.

Put a coral banded shrimp in the tank, End of the odd critters that come out at night :-(

I used to do this all the time, but my Melanarus wrasse slowly took all the fun out of that for me!

Yeah I do this minus the red light (don’t have one) it’s one of the many reasons I get up late at night after we’ve gotten in bed for odd things just to look in the tank. Wife calls me out all the time for it.
