Live Rock or Dry Rock

All things considered then I would just go live rock. Wouldn’t be a massive investment and a lot of people swear by it. You might find you don’t even like the hobby is why the investment side of it comes into play. Either way, dry or live, you are gonna have problems but if you are the type that won’t give up just pick one and don’t fret.

So is there no way to stick live rock together?
Yes you can stick live rocks together and make overhangs using a product called Aquaforest Stone Fix.

I'm going with Innovative Marine 25 gallon lagoon for my first one.
Love that tank! Here is mine at 8 months using TBS ocean live rock.

You can always use both, Marco rock for the majority of rocks and live rock added. I started my first tank 40 pounds of Marco rock and 10 pounds of old aquarium live rock from a tank tear down, and 10 pounds of ocean live rock. I don't feel like I had any real issues.

Awesome tank! What are those plants growing in the back?
Thanks! You are going to love it! The red macro algae is Botryocladia or red sea grapes. The green is Caulerpa racemosa or green sea grapes. They both came in on my ocean live rock. Great nutrient exporters. I have to trim them back about once every three months. I take the cuttings to my LFS. They sell it and they give me free water!
