So I recently started the switch up from a 5 gallon cube to a 10 gallon and I bought some new live rock for it. I really didnt want to get any pests in the tank so after some research I decided to do a high salinity soak for 60 seconds to force anything out of the rock.

It seemed to work as i noticed some worm looking things among others in the bottom of the bucket after the 2 rocks were finished soaking. The rocks are currently sitting in the tank with some water and no equipment. So really I'm just looking for reassurance that what I did wasnt harmful and any tips for the tank move! Thanks in advance.

Tldr: bought new live rock and high salinity dipped it, was that alright?

Question is were those worms harmful in the first place? Defeats purpose of wet live rock if you just want it all to die ;)

I support forcing specimens out, then you can weed out what you want and don’t want
