Live Rock Question

Some of my live rock is starting to get sooty (white in color) to the point where if I dust it off the water turns slightly powdery. Is this normal?

What kind of filtration do you use?
How are your corals/fishes doing?
Can you provide pictures?

PH is at 8.1
Calcium = 400
dKH=10
Nitrate=2.5
Phosphate=0.25
