Live rock question

Personally I wouldn't order it until you tank is here and up.

The only benefit would be to get rid of any unwanted hitchhikers.
Bingo,
If you want live rocks then no curing is needed, which mean you should order it after you setup the tank and fill it in

There was zero die off from shipping when I got my TBS rock 7 years ago. As noted it above, it was shipped completely covered in water and nothing died. There will be a few unwanted hitch hikers. Mine had 2 or 3 gorilla crabs and a single whelk. But a good crab hunt can be fun!

Lots of good hitch hikers....feather dusters, urchins (7 total), sponges, barnacles, pistol shrimp x2, Even a small amount of macroalgae which I stupidly removed. There may be a few beneficial critters that are difficult to keep alive in any tank (the barnacles came to mind first) but they won't cause any issues if they do die.

Hi, I ordered the “package” from Richard at Tampa Bay Salt and it’s amazing stuff. The live sand is almost sediment free and the rock is porous, coated with coralline algae. Virtually no cycle time. My ammonia was 0.25 and never got above. Lots of sponges, but they are hard to keep.
Excellent service as well.
