Live Rock touching sand and glass

I am going to completely redo my aquascape. So I am wondering, what is the recommendation on amount of rock touching the sandbed? Do you want to try to do as little as possible, or does it not matter?

Also I plan on working from the back to front, tall to small. Whats recommendation on rock touching the back of the glass? I know I would struggle to get proper flow and get back there and clean, but what are your reefing recommendations?

I don't understand, what do you mean?

If you mean how much open sand is needed, it depends. There should be enough for burrowers to dig, and for things like conchs to have enough space to move around the rocks. beyond that it doesn't really matter.

Itll be hard to clean if you have rock touching glass, but theres not really other issues beyond risks of scratching to it.

Make sure rock is beneath and not on top of sand.

It will be hard to move all your rocks around, a a few corals will maybe die.

Its good to have a water flow gap behind the rock, atleast a snails gap so it can clean the algae off the glass, but not because you need to clean the glass, I've never cleaned or scraped any glass on the back of any of my tanks. Ever..the more room you leave In front of the rock scape, it gives the tank depth, no sense having all that taken up behind rock "for cleaning"

Defiantly leave at least 2 inches away from glass
