Live Rock/Water

Silly question but i have to make sure since i have never done this yet but i want to take some live rock out of my tank, obviously im going to have to add water after pulling some rock out. do i add fresh water or saltwater to top it back off. thanks guys, sorry for silly question.

You'll probably need to add saltwater. If you do fresh water it'll drop your salinity.

Add saltwater to make up for the lost displacement. Adding freshwater will lower your salinity
