Live rock

So I bought wet live rock about a week ago and its been siting in a bucket thats full with salt water. Would the rock still be alive or did I just waste by money

Depends if it sits in your garage or air-conditioned room and if you run powerhead to circulate and aerate water.
If in garage in Vegas- forget about it.

I just smelt the rock and it smells like nothing really and also the water smells fine to

Sadly there was no circulation or aeration but it was in a air conditioned room

Put a skimmer on it for a week "should" be good to go

Thing is tomorrow I was gonna fill my main tank and add that rock and let it cycle dw tho I won't add the water the rock in but is that fine?

I think that would be fine , give the rock a good swish in SW before adding to DT .
