Hello folks just asking for help on the best way to cure live rock for my already cycled tank. My friend had it in his tank and lost it all during SANDY. His rocks have been in his basement since then.

Five gallon buckets and a powerhead and some of your old tank water.

Make sure when the rock is in the buckets they don't receive any light. You can do 100% waterchanges weekly for about 2 months. This process can be sped up if you heat the container to 80*F. If you use a heater, you can do 100% waterchanges every ~4 days for about a month.

How long and how do I know it's cured
It will stop smelling like skimate

And you use the same tests as cycling a tank. Usually about a month. Get some dr Tim in there it'll help.
