I've had my 20 gallon set up for about 6 months now, and initially I had put in some live rock and some dry rock. My problem is the live rock is purple and looks great. My dry rock (well not so much anymore) is all green with the algae that looks similar to the stuff that grows on the glass. It is supposed to be green? How do I get it to that nice purple color? Thanks, Tyler

The purple stuff is called coraline algea. It takes time for it to grow

Some greens are precursor to corraline. You’ve seeded the tank. The old purple is doing well. It’ll grow.
Be patient.

Don’t buy stuff to make it grow.

About how long? When I'm first set up the tank I did research, and it said about 6 months, but it's been that and no signs of coraline yet? There is less live rock than non coraline, and I was thinking about getting more anyway, would that speed it along?

I’ve had my rock for over a year and there is barely any purple/pink corlaine in it. Patience !
