Live Rock

I have a tank with cycled live rock that is sitting as a back up with no fish or corals. Do I need to add food to keep the live rock bacteria alive?

The bacteria will probably go dormant and limit themselves by the amount of food present. But, if you want to ensure some growth and survival, then a pinch of food now and then would breakdown and keep them functioning.
