Usual is 1.5lbs per gallon. More or less is up to you.

1.5 pounds per gallon is a lot of rock for sure. I think the trend has been closer to a pound now or even less depending on the density of the rock.

What do you picture your tank looking like 1 or 2 years down the road? What do you plan on growing and keeping? Your vision will determine how much rock you need. A minimalistic approach to rock will be sufficient for most people keeping SPS because it will grow and fill in a lot of the tank. For most of the encrusting corals and zoas, more rock to fill in the tank might be a better idea. If it is biological filtration you're worried about, consider the type of rock you will be using. Rock with more surface area throughout will likely give you more room for bacteria to grow versus a rock that is less porous and has less surface area.

Hmm.. Not really sure if there is a ratio. Just go slow, Maybe a rock here, maybe a rock there etc. Once that structure looks good, wait.... Let things happen. (cycle) If all is well, just let nature take it's course. Sometimes the "uglies" turn into something beautiful. GL.

A little bit can seed dry rock, but you’ve gotta give it time. I only had a kilo or so in a 60g with loads of dry rock. The more live you get, the easier it is though.

Depends on the live rock. The definition of live rock on this forum is all over the place. Live rock is fresh from the ocean,
or from a very established tank full of biodiversity.

How much live rock do i need for a 75 gallon tank ?
I would get two pieces of real from the ocean live rock from different sources for bacterial variety and then a bunch of cheap dry rock. The live rock will seed the dry rock rather quickly.

Best to get more than you think you need at first as you can subsequently remove pieces from the display as coral grows or your tastes change. The extra rock in the beginning will only help the tank as it grows. It's very easy to trade or sell live rock.

If money is no object then I would just get 100 lbs of live ocean rock and sell what you want later. Your tank will be ready for fish and corals almost instantly so you can avoid the waiting game that way.
