The original recommendation is 1-1.5 lb per gallon, but imo 1 lb per gallon is great, which I think is 112 lbs for the Red Sea Reefer 425XL?

You can even do less, if you have other biomedia. Like MarinePure!

For me I got less than 1 lb per gallon from KP Aquatics. I got their dry rock, and just a single lb of aquacultured live rock from them for seeding purposes. I asked them to just do ground shipping, because for me it only takes like 3 days for ground shipping and so even with a bit of die-off, it was still wet enough imo to seed the tank.

I have placed an order for 20lbs premium deco live rock at gulf live rock. I also asked them to ship only on May 3rd. We will see. If everything goes well, you can’t beat their price.
