My friend gave me all his live rock from a his 25 Gal "fish only" tank. Except im not too sure if its safe to add to my reef because 1. He hasnt dont any Water changes and 2. ive noticed some large worms in the tank. He managed to keep a fish alive in there surprisingly and i took him too. So with everything said and done. How should i introduce them into my 55 Gal reef? Should i dip rocks in Rx? what worm is this?

Bristle worm is safe IMO as long as it's not massively long

Ok. How about the rocks? do they look safe to add? considering the really dark green algae? Should i dip them in any solution?

Don't dip them whatever you do. You will bomb your tank with them. The worms keep your tank clean and are in every tank.
Just put the rocks in before you kill more things on them Bc they aren't in water.
You were supposed to keep them wet.
Do not dip them in anything or you will defeat the purpose of live rock. You will make it dead rock. Then bomb your tank with ammonia.
Put them in your tank and then test it three times a day for ammonia.
If there's ammonia present do a 30% water change every day until it goes away.
That is IF your tank is already running. If it's the first rock in your tank just let it ride with ammonia as part of the cycling process of the new tank.

Live rock and how it works as well as the bacteria and animals that call it home is Reefing 101 Step one basic information. If you are asking these questions you are very very far behind on your research and are in for a very rough/expensive ride. Start reading and don't stop till your eyes close.

Thanks. The rocks are wet i just transferred them to the box when i took the photo.. I actually have a fully established 55 Gallon reef right now. I was hesitant about this live rock because it came from my friend whos tank was really really filthy and full of algae..I usually buy from the LFS and I see their rocks looking nice and water looking crispy.. didnt wanna add these new rocks until i made sure it wasnt gonna put some nuisance in my tank...But i do have One more question tho. I did a water change on my main tank and placed these rocks into the bucket with a power head running thru a sock of carbon. Is that good for now? i wont dip.

It's fine but what r u gonna do with them now?
Also you could get a brush and knock a lot of that outer algae off the rock before putting it in.

And they're are a lot of horrific nusance algae as out there that you do not want to put in your tank. If your tank is set up right, the algae will die off after a little bit. If it's one of the others you will have doomed your tank to the impossible to remove algae.
Look up the algae and see if you have any of the bad ones on the rocks

Yes i actually went thru the list. So far no Green hair, Red, bubble or other types of identifiable algae. Thank tank that it came from had some really weak LED lights. The algae on this rock seemed like a dark teal looking color towards the top where the light was facing. Didnt look invasive at all. i will take your advice on the brush. I Definitely need to scrub off some debris

So i added the rocks and this is what it currently looks like right now with the lights out. The rocks with Coraline algae were the original ones I had the other rocks are the new ones added. Doing a water test in a few hours, then another one in about 12 hours to monitor. what do you think?

Make an arch or cave if you can. Something to break it up from just being a rock mountain.

As far as the algae goes your snails are gonna be in heaven for a while lol
