live sand addition

I want to add more live sand to my tank. I want to go from 1.5 inches to 2.5 inches. What I'd like to know is how others have added additional sand with keeping the dust and sand from depositing on the rock work. Any suggestions are appreciated. I have 1 idea in my head which consists of a 2ft X 3inch PVC pipe and a larger funnel depositing down the funnel through the tube to the very bottom. Other suggestions I'm open.

You’re spot on with your idea! I did that with an additional 2-10 lbs bags of live sand, Caribsea. I took my 24” gravel vac syphon and aimed it where I wanted it (back wall) and scooped spoon full by spoon full until it was finished. It works!!! Good look.
