Live Sand and package Leakage

Fedex strikes again. I received 40 lbs of live sand today with the box soaked. Both bags are empty of most of the water.

How long do I have till the sand is no longer live? It is still moist and a little bit of water will collect if bag turned to the side.
I was not ready for sand placement until next week at earliest.

is there anything I can do to safe the bacteria?

I would be less irritated if they hadn’t destroyed my salt shipment earlier this month and are currently missing my replacement order.

If it’s moist, bacteria should still be fine.

Live sand is a gimmick. There isn't enough bacteria in that bag of sand to even jump start a cycle.

Just let it dry out, and use it when your ready. Just rinse it well before use.
