Live Sand vs. Fresh Water

A quick question about setting up a new tank. I will be using CaribSea Live Sand in my tank. I do not have enough buckets/containers to mix all saltwater outside of the tank at once. Is it ok to place my rocks on the bottom, fill the tank with live sand and RODI water, and then add salt to mix it up? Will fresh water dip kill all the good bacteria the sand comes with ?

It's actually best to fill your tank up with ro/di water, add your salt, let it mix for a day or two, and then add your sand and rock
