Hope someone can help, trying to set this up, sorry if it's a stupid question but the first time I did this I dint rinse the sand at all.

You should use new sand. There is tons of harmful material that is not washed out completely could risk all your livestock. It's always recommended to use new sand.

I am using new live sand just want to rinse it so I need to know which water can I use? Thank you for responding:)

Caribsea specifically mentions not to rinse their sand.
I know and that's why I didn't the first time but it was recommend here on previous post to rinse so as not to have silt etc. ... Confusion confusion:rolleyes:

I hear ya! I always rinsed in the past, but did not this time. The water took longer to clear up, but I had a quick cycle. Partly from my cured rock I'm sure, but maybe from the sand too.

If you rinse it you will lose the benefit of it being live. Just pour out the water... That helps

Ok thanks to both of you, saves me some time and water, lol
