I want to caution locals considering dealing with this company. This week alone I have had two instances of this vendor advertising a coral for sale that was unhealthy. In the first instance they contacted me and I was able to cancel the order. In the second they shipped a partial order and did not ship the animal I was primarily interested in. Their customer service is inconsistent and I for one will not be doing future business with them. Also I discovered that, at some point, they appear to have been bought out by Petco.

That's a shame Dave, I have always heard such good things about their customer service.

I would say they are one of my go to vendors and I frequently buy from their Divers Den.I think this is just an isolate issue and you should definitely give them another try.

I have done business with them for at least 10 years and have never had anything like this happen. I've spent $5000 or morer with them over the years and was totally upset and unsatisfied with their recent response. Granted, I let them know how I feel about the whole situation and am awaiting their response.

Beware of there maricultured sps...tons of nudis and crabs.....also salty underground has all there corals COVERED in astrea stars

I've never had an issue with them for the past few years. If anything was DOA, they took care of it right away no questions asked. Hopefully, this is just an isolated incident. I found out they were bought out by Petco when they started to charge tax on my DD orders.

I love DD and LA and have also spent upwards of 5k there. Very happy customer for the most part.

Insult to injury a box of salt dfs shipped has at least one bag punctured and they've yet to respond to my inquiry regarding the livestock issue.

I had a couple of issues about 2 months ago and liveaquaria took care of the issues. It took about 2 weeks of emails and liveaquaria made things right. My guess is that they are going through some growing pains. Will I order again, sure but my LFS is WWC and WWC pretty much has everything covered that I would need.

It takes them a couple days via email. Call them and they'll resolve it in minutes.

Took them 10 days to respond to the livestock issue. Didn't want to lose me as a customer, going through growing pains, yadda, yadda.

This is the first time I've seen the online community's PetCo hate spreading to Live Aquaria. I can't wait for every bad experience that anyone's ever had at a PetCo to be attributed to LiveAquaria.

Y because petco will more than likely destroy a great company ....everyone is open to there own oponion

I have ordered lots of stock from them and never had an issue, the few times a crab or two died during the 14 day period I got an immediate response and credit. As for the maricultured having lots of crap on it, from what I hear that is a general problem with maricultured corals and not LA or DD

From my understanding they are staying separate companies and petco has no plans on changing LA, I do not think petco will destroy this company but I guess time will tell.

Petco may try to make live aquaria profitable, which it has not been marginally profitable for quite some time. Something has to change.

That said, live aquaria's model is likely to remain largely unchanged because customers have such a preference for it.

It's a tough problem for sure.

I agree..all maricultured corals have hitchhikers and need to be in qt...I prefer frags not ocean grown colonies....but to each there own

No cus its not like petco bought out LivEaquaria against they're wills.

The same people who built LiveAquaria were comfortable selling the business they'd owned for 31 years. Check this thread and take a few seconds to do some Googling.

The people who run PetCo are very good at what they do. I don't know why you think they'd drop tens of millions of dollars on a well-loved brand only to turn it into a brand that the internet openly hates.

The petco near me uses a hydrometer and tap water in their salt water system. If they are running Liveaquaria I'm glad I don't order fish online.
