Hi. I'm new to the hobby about a little over a year. I would like to ask for help to ID what's growing on my live rock? I tried to scrub and vacuum it's growing everywhere. I have a cvue45g. Water change 10g every two weeks. TIA

Can you share a picture with white lights instead of blue so that we can get a better look at what is on the rocks? Thanks.

I didn't realized I posted this twice. Nway here is a pic.

Someone said to put poly. Another said might be done or cyano? it didn't look like bubbles. Looks fuzzy gray stuff. My wavemaker died and I need to get a new one.

I had fuzzy grayish black stuff in my tank before. I think it was some kind of bacteria. It grew slow. I got rid of it by scrubbing it with a toothbrush untill it was all off the rock. It hasn't reappeared and it's been several months.

Hi. Did you scrubbed the rock outside the DT or just inside the tank is okay? I bought a uv light hoping it would help also. TIA!

I scrubbed it in the tank because it was on a rock with coral on it that I didn't want to disturb.

A UV is only going to help with water born stuff. It can't do anything to stuff already on the rocks.
