I do. Everytime I meet someone new to the hobby in my area, I lay out everything. Go here for rock, there for supplies, there for corals, etc.Is it bad form to let other buyers know what you paid for a certain livestock. I feel like it's only fair to educate buyers.
+1 you would be surprised how many people I stopped from buying the $30 live rock, or $40 skunk cleaners from petcoNah man, be truthful about stuff like that if someone asks, it puts unfair expectations out there if you don't. I think it's dirty for some stores to upmark specific items just because they know folks new to the hobby need it and don't know any better in the moment they're buying a new tank or something.
Well that's the thing is buying online from someone you really don't know the health of the animal other than the picture. So, it's really a gamble to trust someone by that. If I were buying based off health alone I wouldn't purchase online. Everyone is always looking for a deal. Just my opinion though.Just remember it IS livestock. I buy my fish from a LFS that is at the high end of the local shops. But they have they healthiest livestock. Even with fish of the same species, quality of care and handling makes a huge difference.
