Alright folks I have recently started noticing a lot of these things in the pictures appearing on my live rock, it's like they are breeding somewhere as they range in size from smaller than a grain of rice size up to a mans fingernail size !! Anyone know what they are and if I can leave them or start pickin them out !!! Cheers :-))

Looks like somatella snails to me! They are beneficial, check your tank at night and you'll probably see a lot more.

I just noticed my first black Stomatella snail today - thought it was a bettle bug that fell into my tank but then noticed the slug/snail look under the half shell and thought one of my large snails decided to go shell-less. I tried to get it out of the tank ... but it somehow got real small and slipped into a rock pore.

glad to know it's benefical ...
