Howdy , I have a lobo in the sand bed . Low flow , low light . Feed these 3 once a week - Roids , Fuel , Plankton . The lobo has not progressed in 3 weeks , if anything his colors seem to be slightly fading . Any advice .

I just got my first lobophyllia a couple of weeks ago after reefing for 25 ish years. I do know in general, most of my LPS are slow growers. I personally would just give it more time. Good luck.

They prefer meaty foods, not that goop called reef roids. I feed mine PE mysis, pellets, chunks of clams, basically anything it can fit down it's throat.
I find with mine, the meatier the better.

I do notice a response when I broadcast mysis for the fish. How often do you target feed it meaty food?

I'm probably not the best to ask as I feed my fish heavy and have never spot fed my coral. I'm a true believer in heavy in, heavy out.
I feed the tank, not the inhabitants. If that makes any sense to you?

Ha totally took a pic of the wrong coral. I thought we were talking meat coral(acanthophyllia).
But I do have a couple lobo's and they respond similar, as they are very similar corals.

Lobos can take decades to grow out. I'd be patient and just wait until the year 2100 to see real progress...

They are extremely slow growers. Very nice meat coral. I'm may have to get one. I've had mine for a year. I think its just starting to put on another polyp.

That’s a fantastic lobo , impressiveI get a feeding response out of mine from feeding phyto. Reef Nutrition or Algae Barn. I have mine in low light and low flow. It's my favorite coral right now.
They also like to eat at night. After lights out. I have had a few lobos in my time and one currently has actually developed another head after a year. Cool as they grow very slowly. Mine is a bit smaller heads, so I just broadcast feed and maybe hand it some mysis if I am around at night.
