Lobo with tissue recession in 3 spots?

I got this frag a few weeks ago with 3 noticeable spots that were smaller. They since have gotten a bit larger. I feed this guy about every other day with mysis shrimp and LRS. During the day he is slighly shrunken, and at night, he is super puffy and the center is almost not visible.

Do you have any suggestions on how I can save this guy? Is it eating, a sign that it is getting better, or will?

feeding corals every 2 days is too much, once or twice a week is sufficient, they dont even need to be fed at all since most of their energy comes from photosythesis (sp).

Would need a lot more info to be able to offer suggestion, honestly, the tanks looks very pristine and new.

How old is the tank? what are the latest test parameters? What type of tank is it, what kind of lighting and flow?

The tank is fairly new, but past the ugly phase. Everything else in the tank is doing well. Up till last Sunday, there were a bunch of diatoms and hair algae. Not a speck since the water change. It's a 30 gallon, 36x18x12 with a 20 gallon bashsea sump. The main light is an aqua knight v1, and also 2 fluval marine nanos. The return pump is on speed 2 of 6, an$ I have 2 wavemakers. All 3 point towards the center of the tank. I don't have access to my test parameters right now. I'm sitting in my car waiting to go into work. But I test with red sea kits. The marine care kit and the cal, mag, kh kit, I forget it's name also by red sea. Last test nothing was out of spec or I'd have mentioned it. This coral had this recession when I picked it up.

Also I have read quite a lot of threads stating this coral needs to be fed meaty foods on a regular basis. I make no claims of being an expert. I tried to feed it 2 days in a row and day 2 it just didn't accept the food. Didn't open up to ingest it. If I wait a day or 2 between feeding it opens up within a minute and starts to take the food in. That seems like a pretty clear sign to me that it wants to be fed.

In my experience...
Once they start to go, it is hard to get them back. Not saying that it can't be done.
They will need excellent water conditions, flow and light.
If the flesh was damaged that usually contributes to its demise.

I wish you luck and hope someone with more knowledge that me about these creatures comes in.
