As you can see from the pictures of this lobophylia, the coloring on it is very faded. I just got this piece from someone who said it was a purple lobophylia. Searching purple lobophylia online shows different colors. It was never fed directly before so I'm hoping that by giving it a stable tank and feeding it, I can get its color back. Do think the color will come back? Any idea how long it will take? And any idea as to what color this will turn out to be if it does come back?

That lobo definitely looks rough. Feed a couple times a week with some meaty food and keep parameters stable. Colors will be more prominent in a month or so. What lighting was it under? What lighting is it in now?

He had transferred it to a tank that was under t5s for awhile. Before that I'm not sure. Now it is under high watt leds. I've seen slight improvement, but nothing crazy.

Out of all the purple Lobos that I've seen online, this picture looks a bit similar. Some of the highlights are similar although I fully acknowledge it would have a long way to go if this is the same lobo.

I had a tank incident a few months ago. My orange and green lobo turned brown and tan. It took a few months but did get its color back.

Wow that Purple Lobo above is awesome, never seen one before.

IME, my green lobo went through a rough trip to get to me lost color and got dull. after a month under my LED and feeding some Coral Frenzy it now is much more green and getting some even greener stripes. It even split a new head, in 1 month !

oh just to add, i didnt know how it would react to my strong LED so for the first week or so i placed it half shaded. I then moved it because the base was exposed and got a nip or two from my Blue Face so I adjusted it into full light exposure and covered its base with an old clam shell. Thats when it started splitting and got its color and more.

Thanks for the help/ideas guys. I'm going to carefully spot feed it after the lights go out 2-3 times a week. I got really faded/stressed acans at the same time and you can see in the picture below how just two weeks of feeding and stability helped. I'm hoping the same thing for this lobo.

looks like an acan to me.

Those pictures are not the lobo I was referring to. I put those on just to show that the acans I got at the same time as the lobo colored up.

The tissue looks quite healthy (looking past the bland coloration). While it clearly wasn't happy with the conditions it was in before, it's completely capable of coloring up to it's full potential in ideal parameters.

proper lighting and parameters. Spot feeding corals isn't really necessary. I mean, it may help. I only spot feed because its fun.

Yours might be browning due to too low of light, although its impossible to tell without a full list of parameters and equipment.
