i am looking to add a loc line with a "Y" connector in it to my 1" pvc return.

I'm looking on BRS but I'm a bit confused on what I'd need size wise.

My issue right now is too much flow coming out all over the tank and with my power head it's making a cyclone of sand in one spot of my tank. If I move either in any direction I get huge dead spots. I'm hoping that by adding the loc lines I will be able to utilize my tunze and hit only the dead spots a bit better without causing the sand cyclone.

So before I place my order, I decided to go with 1/2.

I'll need the 1" spigot reducer to 1/2 female thread, then I'll thread the female ball valve onto that and my "Y" onto that etc

Yup!:)

Correction: I would need the male ball valve to connect to the female reducer. Would I be wise to get a 1" to 3/4" reducer and then the 3/4" to 1/2" "Y"?

Or will it be the same going from 1"-1/2"?

Do you have any pictures of your return as it is now? And how much water are.you pushing?

You can see what it looks like coming into the tank from this FTS. I'm not home otherwise I would get a picture. My return pump does 594gph but it's somewhat old so I'm sure it's not pushing that now. I have 5 90s on it right now with one being in the tank where the water comes out. The coupling and the elbow in the tank are not glued so I can remove those.

I didn't drill the return for the tank so I had to go up over the top and back down into the tank if that makes sense.
