Looking for some macro algae for my display so it has to be pretty and not take over.

Any local stores have some? Recommended types?

Those two things I'm not quite so sure that they go together. Most macros will take over and out grow anything else very fast. I keep macros in my fuge but my tangs would destroy it in my tank.

If I were to try one in a tank without tangs, red grape caulerpa would be my suggestion as it is nice and bright but even if it spreads it's fairly easy to manually remove. You'll just have to keep up with manually removing it. If you have friends with tangs it seems to be the favored type for them all.

We have some dragon's breath/flame algea that is pretty and not a fast grower. Obviously if you leave it to its own devices after a while it will take over, but it can easily be pruned. We have it in our 30g rimless.

I love that algea but the turbo snails devour it. How do you keep the CC off it?

Post a picture of your 30g with it please.

I'll have to try it again, the Turbo in question is long gone....

Anyone on the shoreline have some for sale?
