Local Reef Club: Are you a member? If so what club is it?

Yup, although I spend much more time on R2R then I do on the club forums. Need to get back to some meetings :)

LMAS - Louisville Marine Aquatic Society

I was going to be a member/sponsor of Tampa Bay Reef Club but found out the hard way that if you are not part of their clic the they really don't want you as a member/sponsor. Toke money from one of my friends who is a sponsor of their club and do not support his business at all. The president posts that she visted all sponsors on a recent trip and did not stop by his store that is two miles out of her way. That is one of the reasons I am on r2r!

Yep! I started out in the Gainesville Reef Club and then decided that I really enjoyed Marion Ocala Reef Enthusiasts more since they seem to be more involved in the hobby and do quite a few events. I'm really enjoying being a part of their club! :)

I'm another LMAS member and have been since I started. Average missing one meeting a year due to being out of town and am active on road trips to frag swaps etc. I have heard about a lot of "Drama" in some other clubs but I believe it is caused by people who join the club wanting to get financial gain or are power hungry. We don't have that problem and all our current members give more than they take from the club.

Yes. Actually I am in the process of a revival of the club in my area. Red River Valley Reefers (RRVR) is the main club I am working with. I am also active with the Northern Minnesoata Reef Club (NMRC) as their members are really close to where we have a lake cabin. The nice thing about both clubs is they are very laid back with no formal "Borad" making decisions. This way there is no power struggle or issues either way.

If you are in my area and want to get more info feel free to PM me and I'll hook you up with our link ;)

I am a member of C-SEA (Cleveland Saltwater Enthusiast Assoc) in Cleveland Ohio. Really haven't gone to a meeting in awhile. Lots of drama in the club, and drama with the other club in town. I spend more time here then on the local forum. No drama here :)

Treasurer for the Boston Reefers Society.

It's always nice to have a local club where you can catch up with friends you've made over the years.

Yes, RASOC.org.

We have sort of an unorganized club, East Texas Aquarium Keepers. I'm also a member of DFWMAS but I'm a little to far out of the area to participate in much.
