I want to install new gfci outlet right behind reefer 250, but I'm unsure on location.
Reefer stand has cut out on back wall, should I mount outlet right in front of cut out, or should I hide it behind stand back wall just in case any splashing happens ?
If I should install in front of cut out, should I install weatherproof box cover like pictured below ?

Here's where the tank is going, it's a perfect fit, with about 2'' of space on each side.

Make sure you can easily get to the gfi plug. GFI plugs can trip and you need too be able to get to it to reset it. Plus, if you need to replace the plug and its behind the stand where you can't access it, you will have to tear down the entire tank/stand to move it. I'd put it in the open area...

The wall my tank is against backs up to the coat closet underneath my stairs (like yours it looks like?). I cut a hole in the wall and ran all electronics into the closet:) Then installed a gfci outlet in the closet, and still put an outdoor cover over it (just in the off chance of careless bumping).

I have all my equipment, control panel, supplies etc in there and it has become a mini fish room. Best thing I ever did, super clean display set up in the family room by having everything hidden in the closet. Super easy to cut the hole with a bit of careful measuring. I used a 2 gang (double outlet size), a 1 gang would have been too small.
