I am in the process of setting up a new 125 reef with dual corner overflows, and am torn between 2 locations. Need some help to decide.

1) Along an exterior wall (stand in place in pic).

2) Behind my leather couch, where the piano is currently sitting.

I really like behind the couch but it raises some concerning issues there. Will the salt spray damage my leather furniture? My lady friend thinks the glare will be tough watching tv, and I'm a tad concerned about being able to see all the plumbing in the overflows.

behind the couch would make access to the back side of the tank easy if needed.

May be a little loud and in your ears constantly while watching TV along with the glare.

I would personally go against the wall.

I vote against the wall, you will hate seeing the plumbing behind the couch. If you wanted a tank behind the couch, you would want a different tank configuration.

Like a single overflow on the short end? Been half tempted to rip out one of the overflows and plug the bulkheads, anyway. Could remove them both and install a coast to coast on the short end.....

An island overflow so plumbing isn't visible from any side. It would be aesthetically pleasing from all angles since it can be viewed all the way around.

!!! Welcome to R2R !!! I would put the tank against the wall. Behind the couch would be nice but you will regretted while watching TV and the glare of the tank and moving that huge tank will be a pain.

You can go peninsula style and have some sort of cabinetry/furniture that encases the plumbing on the short side.
