I currently have the current usa loop pro marine 42inch light for my 90gal it has 2 led programmable bars with a nice timetable fade feature. I'm looking for a bit more par and dont feel the need to completely upgrade and ditch my current lights. Could I add 2 of these lominie 80w to increase par. And has anyone had any experience with them?I know alot of people love the pixie made by the same co. For the refegium, so I'm optimistic....

I have one of these lights but havent tried it on anything for an extended period of time. The mounting bracket is terrible, the light doesnt mount very solid to it. It gets HOT. There is no timer/on/off feature so you need to have it setup independently. No ramp up or down options. The IR reciever to control the light is on the power supply which is kind of inconvenient.

For nano tanks they are ok, but two of them would struggle to support anything more than low light softies on a 90g. You would likely need 3 or 4 of them to handle that size tank.

As Idaho Mojo mentioned they are not without their downsides but aside from that they do work fairly well as long as you're not expecting anything other than a basic light with minimal control.

At that price per light you'd be better off looking at something like a pair of AI Hydra 32's or the ReefBreeders Photon V2. The total price is a tad more for them, but they allow for full control over your lighting compared to these.
