Hello Reefers,

I’m planning my build for a 48wx12dx14h reef tank and I’d like to know your opinion on placement of my Fiji Box external overflow, as well as where I should place the return bulkhead. Also...

1) would two returns create anyadditional benefit?
2) would placing the returns along the back panel be a waste of lateral flow capability? That is, should my return flow be coming in from the side panel?
3) can I rely on a return bulkhead to provide surface agitation?

Thanks so much for your input!

I can provide views once I construct the tank itself as I’m sitting on materials at this point. Did the sketch attachments come through? I’ll re-post them to be sure. Wondering about placement of overflow and return(s)

I bumped for others to view and chime in ideas..
Myself id have the overflow back left corner and a teed return going in back right with them aimed toward the surface and angled to the left. Then id use a couple of good ph on each end of the tank to push water.

Oh gotcha. Sorry, new to this. I like your setup you stated. Seems like flow would be pushing the right direction and would minimize any surface film. Thanks!
