Hello,

I have searched and cannot find anyone else who has posted this worm. It is in my sump, and is VERY long. It is crystal clear, is able to stick to the sides vertically, and has green insides that move like they're going down a slide. You can see the green in the pictures a little bit.

I got this sump from someone else and we are still working on getting it where it should be; is this guy a problem? I really hope not, because he is super long! Or maybe there's a bunch of them? It's hard to tell.

Thank you so much for your help and expertise!

Hi and Welcome to R2R.

It's probably harmless. I will attempt to look it up in the am. Hopefully someone else chimes in.

They might be peanut worms.

Thanks! I will do some more research on them and see if I can find a match.

Huh I've never seen these before. I doubt they are peanut worms since these are transparent. Do the tubes move at all? (not the green stuff)

They haven't moved since we've noticed them. We've been trying to find them online sporadically for about two weeks with no luck. And while they do not move and do not appear to have any string-like hairs or tentacles (that we can see) the green insides move continually.

Onuphid tub worm (Hyalinoecia sp.)???

If it helps, there is no light in our sump. I can't see any legs or feelers on it. The longest one is looks at least 1-2' long, but it's hard to tell if it's completely connected. It winds back and forth under the fine layer of sand that has made its way down there. (All the stuff that was clouding up the tank when we got a diamond goby, I presume!)
