Long green hair alge

Hey guys question how to I get rid of my long hair allge that attached it self to my rock and won't come off I can't use a been due to two of my fish it's at the point were it look like a swamp I'm some spot of my tank I just took scissors to so to trim it

I like to use maintenance fish to keep all algae at bay. Pun intended. So the regal tang will do little to help you with hair algae. Any rabbit fish or foxface will clean it up in no time. Zebrasoma sp. Tangs also do wonderful job of cleaning up. I'm a big believer of employing fish over inverts to keep my tanks clean. Plus with good husbandry fish can live many years. Most CUC need to be replenished pretty regularly. Now this is really just a bandaid not a fix. You really need to test your water and try to fix the source. High nitrates, phosphates? Using tap water high in iron? Overfeeding? HTH
