Just noticed this in my tank and have no idea what it is or if it’s bad.

It has 5-6 hair like arms that keep retracting and moving all around. It is very light green to yellow with small black or brown markings every so far down the arm.

I can’t see the base of what the legs are extending from because it’s embedded in the GHA but it keeps extending new ones that creep along and are about three inches long now. They move sort of like octopus tentacles??

Spaghetti worm or brittle star, either way it's harmless and nothing to worry about. I have dozens of spaghetti worms. They are beneficial members of the CUC, even if they are a little unsightly.

From the pic it looks like micro brittle star. The videos don't work for me.

The Tentacles are too long for a micro brittle star and they would be thicker/have noticeable hair protrusions at that length if it was a normal brittle.

I’d say spaghetti.

Yeah, the bands threw me off. Looking at it again, they do seem too skinny for a brittle star.
