I have had this torch for a few months and it has always been long and stringy. It has recently split into two heads but still has these really long arms that reach out and the others almost seem to curl. Any ideas why this is?

I have a similar torch (Nuclear Tipped Torch was what it was called when purchased) and I observed that when it is under placement with low flow, the arms are more spread out and thicker. I recently moved it into a higher flow area and the arms have become retracted and skinnier, exactly like yours in the picture.

A really happy torch coral is what that is. If its splitting heads its happy and healthy. The long tentacles are sweeper tentacles that are used for defense. The other curly tentacles are because of the flow in the tank. I'm going to assume you have it in a higher flow part of the tank were it is has a random flow.

It was in a higher flow 2 months ago but I replaced the power heads with adjustable ones and turned them down. This is the flow now.

My torch does better in low flow.. not sure why people blast them.. in medium to high flow they stay small.

That flow looks perfect to me
