I have a 7 ft frag style tank that I am trying to decide what lighting to go with. I have a t5 retrofit that will work for supplement. I want to use ocean revive t247s because I have used them in the past. The only question I have is how do people run power to tall the light fixtures.

I almost want to do mars aqua because of the daisy chaining they can do. Any recommendations on what to do would be great.

If the wires bother you that's a definite downside – I'm afraid I'd have to go with something more simple like 72" LED strips for a tank like that. Have you considered DIY?

They make loooooong power strips with outlets every foot or so that may work for you... they are the sort of thing you see along the back wall of a work bench. Could mount one up above the lights.

Haha yeah wired drive me nuts. I'll have to look into the long power stips. I haven't really thought DIY yet either.

A 7ft frag tank would be a lovely project for some DIY LED pendants, even something simple like five or six of the 48w boards from blueAcro, each on a CPU heatsink, and some simple driver/PSU arrangements.

Personally I would do something similar, or maybe a set of big "evil clusters" based on a high CRI COB white with a mess of royal blue, with a few simple colors added in it would flat out rock, and blow most commercial offerings away in cost effectiveness for the quality.
