I have a 90 gal reef tank well established, runs on its own, numbers always in range with known parameters, have dosers and ato and skimmer. so my long tentacle anenomie has been like cutting free half the length of a tentacle. one a day. the severed tentacle will lay in the sand and have color for days...?

Do you have a banded coral shrimp in the tank?

Edit: That looks like a Condylactis anemone in your photo.

well thank you for the identification. no shrimp in the tank
have you ever seen one do this? he has been in that spot for months and I haven't rearranged any of the rocks or power heads in months...?

I have never seen tentacles drop off like this before. I asked about the shrimp because they will snip off anemone tentacles, but to fall off on their own is very strange. @OrionN - Any ideas?
