My water is fine, temperature is fine, lights are being changed as I type this. The question is should I remove this long tentacle anemone now. I have it for a couple of months and it started to bulge out like it wanted to move. It did a little. Last time it ate (shrimp) was 5 days ago. Dont want to risk the take, just not sure what to do. Take is a 28 cube.

We need more specifics than the water and temperature are “fine”, something is definitely off with this setup. What are your water parameters, lighting, feeding regimen, tank age, and flow?

I had all perimeters check at my local store. they told me all are perfect but kalk is a tad low. I know I had to by new t5s they were about 8 months old. I just got a black box and am hooking it up but I dont want to stress everything else.
I was feeding it raw shrimp Cut up to small pieces once every 3 days or so.
flow was medium to light by my perception.

I have never seen what is going on. It still has form and holds together
Ah okay, for sure old enough, I was thinkin it was a couple months old. Yeah not sure, I only keep BTAs, the long ones are harder to care for. Do you have somewhere you can put him, like acclimation or something? Anemones smell horrible when dead, picking him up and smelling would tell you right there

I had him in 3 gal tub for a day but was told by the store he is just trying to find his place, so I put him back in. he did not look at all this bad at that point. I guess I will try and reset that back up

Im sorry if I am a little disjointed, I am trying to put out 4 fires here and this is with all the other things top priority

ok Alk was at 8.1. I dosed it yesterday with 20 mLs of Kent buffer. Like I said, disjointed

Yeah I would do that, just make sure if he smells foul then he is a goner and needs to be removed at that point to avoid nuking the tank

I had a blue tuxedo urchin that did that to my first tank oh so many years ago and I am still gun shy

Quick up date before I go to bed. I got him into about a gal container. He is still solid and does not smell. the brown tendrils coming out of him seem to be his orange foot. It looks like he is almost totally inside out.

Good thing I got him out of the tank, he was dead this morning. I would really like to know if anyone has any ideas about what happened. Maybe a metal that is not tested for, or anything. I have a Lab I can go to and have everything under the sun tested for but I am not sure even if there was some irregularity I would be able to see it unless it was huge. And of course the Money even at a discount.
