I have my rock work centered in my tank. I hung my hydro fixture over my 100 gal directly in the center. 3 gen4 pro all with diffusers and 4 t5 blue+. About a foot height. Like most people i have it completely stocked around 40 acros. Plus a handful of other sps. Tank has been running over a year. all corals are happy and healthy. Something I have been noticing lately is as my frags grow into mini colonies. The side facing the front of tank is less colorful then the side facing rocks?? I, like a lot of people enjoy viewing my tank from my coach. So I am below my tank, which means I am slightly looking up at corals. When the t5’s are on during day (not usually home) it’s not as noticeable, but when it’s just LED’s I notice it.

Does anyone tilt there lights slightly down in front so lights hit corals at a better viewing angle???
Maybe move entire fixture forward an inch??
All corals at top of rocks are fine it's only the ones up front.
Not a big issue just curious what everyone thinks?

I do tip my led fixtures. I use 2. The one in front is tipped low toward the front. The one in back is more blue and is flat rather than tipped. But my tank is more zoas and RFAs, so shadows under the coral is much less of an issue.

And it's very difficult to get leds to light under corals given that they are kind of focused down. Even t5 struggle to light under corals, but they do 'bounce' around light better than leds. And remember, even the sun doesn't do a very good job of lighting under corals.
