Greetings! Have been lurking long enough, I think it's time I introduce myself. I'm Cherany (pronounced like share-a-knee), and this is my tank. It's a standard 29g that was set up almost two years ago on the cheap (no sump, only a garbage in-tank skimmer I ended up removing), so it has presented some challenges, but it was a start and got me hooked. I actually never intended to keep corals (other than a sun coral, my favorite), but you see one you like here and one you like there, and before you know it... well, you guys know! :biggrin1:
I had a 40 breeder drilled for bean animal plumbing last year and received a Reef Octopus skimmer for Christmas, so a very nice upgrade is coming once I get my sump built and the plumbing all put together.
Currently no fish in the tank. I had a bad case of brooklynella a year ago and lost all my fish (the nicest of which was the sunburst anthias in my avatar), and it left me with dampened spirits for a while. I'm just now beginning to restock and am feeling excited about having fish again! I purchased a magnificent firefish and bluestriped pipefish from LA Diver's Den this week and have them together in QT. The pipefish is already eating frozen a day after acclimation, no doubt a result of their conditioning. (The dusty look is just my dirty glass.)
Looking forward to getting to know some of you! :tea:
