I use Hannah for Phosphate, Alkalinity and Calcium. Red Sea for Ammonia and Nitrate. All seem to work well for me.

Test kit lineup:
Cal = API or Salifert
Alk = Hanna Alk (dkh) Checker
Mag = Salifert
Nitrates = Salifert
Phosphates = Hanna ULR Checker, but... switching to Elos

I've reduced the amount of pellets and will look into NOPOX.

Should I be worried about the bacterial mulm? I mean, besides being gross and clogging my plumbing, will it harm my corals/fish if it gets on them?

I've never experienced a problem with bacterial mulm and livestock.
