Hello everyone! I have been lurking this forum for over a year now, and decided to finally make an account. I have been keeping fish only saltwater tanks for about 5 years. 4 months ago I decided to make the switch to corals. I have a 32g biocube with a media basket and tunze 9001 protein skimmer. I have been taking things very slow and only have 2 corals so far. I have been having constant algae problems in the tank.. I think it may be from my aquascape and having too much live rock piled up. My frogspawn doesn't open nearly as much as it used to either, but my hammer coral is doing great.

I am just using an api test kit right now that is hard to read but I ordered new ones from Red Sea and Hanna.
Anyway just wanted to say Hi and would love some input!

Welcome to R2R! Does it receive direct flow from.the powerhead behind it? Try moving it to sandbed similar to the other hammer and see if it perks up.

Great looking cube there! Welcome to the fish gang. The only way out is in a waterbox haha. I think the algae needs to burn off but having a diverse cuc will help with the management. What do you got in there to combat algae atm?

Welcome- sometime it just takes time -sometimes identically appearing corals - 1 fails 1 does not. I would try to avoid changing anything. I bought 2 goniopora - identical tank put them next to each other - one was dead in a week - the other lasted >5 years

Thank you! Yeah it seems like ive been waiting months for it to burn off lol. I have a 20g cuc pack from reefcleaners plus a few other snails and hermit crabs from my LFS

That is a great start and algae takes awhile to do its thing. Having competing algae will also help. Try getting your hands on some fresh coralline. And watch what your cuc eats and does not eat. You may want to keep diversifying that part.
