Hello everyone. Found this forum when searching information on starting a saltwater tank. My wife and I have immersed ourselves into the hobby since August 2019 and are growing at ludicrous speed in the hobby.
I started with a very early Christmas present for my wife with a 24 gallon cube. Once cycled we quickly outgrew it with coral purchases literally allowing NO space for growth. In December, we purchased a 90g cube(ish) tank 36 x 24 x24 and transferred nearly everything over to the larger space. This tank has a sump/refuge. Pics on that coming later.
Since we emptied our 24g cube, we have turned it into an anemone tank with plans to have a brood of small clown fish (they are in quarantine at the moment.
My wife and I work in medicine. My biology and chemistry degree favor marine biology and I used to teach a lot of oceanography classes especially on tide-pool regions of the coast. We consume information as fast as we can obtain it, likely due to the repetitive habit of over 12 year of college each of us have. I am so appreciative of how much information is available in this community. I can't imagine trying this hobby without the internet and forums such as this one.
Here is a pic of our 90g tank. I'm still trying to figure out where to put the links in my signature page to follow progress on it's growth. We stock too quickly and we need to slow down or we're going to have to buy a 225g soon
