so I'm home waiting for my box of anemones and live rock to arrive here in Orlando southwest cargo because Newark didn't wanna let me fly it as luggage on Wednesday.. Then they couldn't find the box all day till last nite when it was to late to ship, so after nightmare after nightmare I finally get it on a flight but won't arrive till 11:30 tonite.. My question is what's the chances them being fine in a bag for 48hrs?? It's none that nems hold water during long moves..

That sounds terrible! I'd be one big stress ball. I hope it works out for you. Let's get some opinions from the [HASHTAG]#reefsquad[/HASHTAG]

I would carefully examine the anemone before acclimating. If the water in the bag looks really bad, then I would do a quick acclimation. I would also do the acclimation at lights out and let the anemone settle in overnight before acclimating to the light cycle. This way it won't be a shock to it.

Recently, I had an order delayed for over 48 hours. It had a derasa clam, snails, and a gorgonian. Pretty much everything made it OK.

You have no idea.. Lol I've been flipping on TSA, the airlines, and cargo.. Just a disaster since Tuesday morning.. So I'm over stressed to the point where I'm tired and have to wait till 11:30.. Lol But I'll be waiting Caz it's my clowns new home!! 2 of them at that!!

Ok kool.. So if the bags not that dirty jus dump them in the DT without a drip?? And if it's dirty then I drip it? And it's good to hear that urs made it fine after that trip, hopefully I'll post something tomorrow with good news and pics..

If the water is dirty, I would do a quick temp acclimation. If it is OK, I would do drip acclimation. The reason for this is to get the anemone out of toxic water quickly.

Here's what I'd do. If the water looks/smells dirty, I'd at least match salinity and temperature and switch the nems into this new water. Then I'd do a drip to bring them up to the salinity of your tank. This is going to be a long night for you. Best of luck.

Another thing this is a real bad time to ship livestock. Most LFS learn this and don't order anything this close to the holidays. The shipping system is slammed during the month of December.

Well I got my package at 12:30am and the bags were cold but the water wasn't that bad.. So I floated them for 20mins, added a little water every couple mins and dropped them into place.. Not even 10mind in the clowns were bugging the rbta to host.. So all in all, 50hr trip in the bags and they made it ok.. Here's a video off the Nem's.. PS!!! I'm using a iPhone.. Lol
