We’re going away for the long weekend and won’t be home .
Issue on my mind . Cyanobacteria just started a few weeks ago and I’ve been constantly blowing it off of rocks and some frags .
Will lights off for the weekend be a bad thing ?

If no corals are in the tank, just leave the lights off.

if corals are in the tank, I wouldn’t leave them off for that long. Maybe run them for 4 hours everyday, I believe that is the time in which corals actually do Photosynthesis.

Many people do a 3-day lights out in an attempt to rid their reef tanks of unwanted algae with no ill effects. I've done it myself a couple of times.

I wouldn't sweat it.

Agreed with both posts the lack of foods and reduced lighting will help with your cyano problem. Have you tried adjusting your flow to help with removing the cyano from your rocks?

I wouldnt worry about it too much either. I grew up on an island in the Caribbean and we had plenty of cloudy days, granted its not pitch dark with cloud cover, if you have a timer outlet or another way to turn on/off a light I might suggest having some ambient light so your fish/inverts can still go about their business as usual.
