Long white fan from under coral

Hi all,

No idea how to best describe what this is so hoping a picture will do. There are 2 long white things coming out from below one of my corals. They sort of remind me of Christmas waterfall lights, without the lights. It has gotten bigger over the past month, I assumed it was part of the coral but now not so sure. It seems to retract when I feed and fan out at night. Does anyone have any idea what they are and if no good how to get rid of them? They are the two white things you can hopefully see in the picture below.

Thanks all, gave them a snip but from what I read on the net they are sometimes hard to fully get rid of. I'll find out in a few days I guess.

Digitate hydroids are different, what you have is a benthic ctenophore. Should be a small slug looking animal thats actually a jelly somewhere at the bottom of those lines.

Its just one animal, as long as it doesn't bother anything i wouldn't get rid of it if it comes back, maybe it won't.

Appears to be hydroids or tube worms . First order is to prevent food from getting to them. eventually they’ll starve. Cutting away is fine- just assure you’re doing it at the base otherwise, like vermatids they’ll come back.
