Long white stringy thing!?

What is this? It literally appeared overnight & is over a foot long! Just attached to the rocks & only one single strand, not like a web! Thanks

Can Chaeto be white? Most pics I’ve seen, its been green. This mysterious string is white!

Hmmm... didn’t think about that but it is a possibility, my GF has long hair, but it seemed to be thicker than a strand of hair. Thanks for your input!

Def not a strand of hair... I removed that one & a few days later another long strand has grown back. It’s almost like a worm or tentacle of some sort!
