Longer Apex Neptune Cable?

I'm trying to wire a few boxes from bedroom frag tank to main tank in living room. I'd require maybe 15-20 metres. Does it work of you daisy chain these using USB repeaters? Or maybe this is the kick in the butt to upgrade to new Apex (and now I'll have two Apexes?)

Pretty sure their "Aquabus" cable isn't the same thing as a regular USB. I have heard horror stories of people bricking their APEX using the wrong cable..

It absolutely isn't the same. I believe it's a null terminal cable equivalent, if anyone remembers parallel and serial cables. However, in some situations, the able does work I've discovered.

Regardless however: would there be a way to join say, 5 of the longest Aquabus cables?

I do know one way: buy a Neptune Apex box--e.g., an FMM box would act as the analogue of a USB hub--but that cost woyld be substantially more than just buying another Apex brain.
